Each year the Edge Foundation poses a question to a group of the world’s leading thinkers.  This year’s question is “What are you optimistic about?”  The answers have just been posted to their site.  I read about a third of them tonight and can’t wait to get to the rest.  Here’s the link:

Hey all.  As most of you know it's MLK weekend.  The man has been a big inspirtation to me as of late and I wanted to pass along a few MLK-related things you might want to check out. 

#1 - Want to see a cool MLK tribute video? OK, do this:

1.  Go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2ZtGj8s7H4, turn down the volume all the way down and pause it asit starts. 

2.  OK, now go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gq08ouOwiqQ (U2 doing MLK/Streets at the Super Bowl) and fire up that video (leave the volume up).

3.  Switch back to the original video and press play to watch that one while you're listening to the second one.

Pretty sweet huh?

Here are a couple of other things:

#2 - Citizen King - Love this documentary about MLK.

#3 - A Knock at Midnight - This collection of speeches is a must-have for your iPod.  Just listening to Martin's voice gives me goosebumps.

And if you really want to dig deep over the weekend check out the MLK page we put up on LearnOutLoud.  There's some really good stuff including some free King audio and the speech RFK gave on the eve of King's assassination which is one of the most chilling speeches in American history.

Popped over to iTunes today and was pleasantly surprised to see LearnOutLoud featured on the homepage of the iTunes Podcast Directory. People are really digging The Philosophy Podcast and the Great Speeches in History Podcast (among others).
